Pediatricians and public health advocates are desperate to find a resolution to the increasing rise to lead poisoning in American children. Kids having enough lead in their blood causes intellectual impairments and behavioral problems. Doctors are petitioning this issue by holding on to national leaders to restore lead funding.
Once lead is in the bloodstream, the poison then flows throughout the body, which causes harm to an unborn or young child living in an older home. Also at risk are those who immigrate to the United States or are adopted from a foreign country that isn’t around the use of lead.
